The National Operatic and
Dramatic Association (NODA) was founded in 1899 "to protect and
advance the interests of Operatic and Dramatic Art, and of Societies
engaged therein." It now has a membership of some 2300 amateur
societies staging a wide variety of events ranging from some of the
country's leading theatres to tiny village halls.
FMS is affiliated to the National Operatic and
Dramatic Association (NODA), which was founded in 1899 and is the
main representative body for amateur theatre in the UK. It has a
membership of some 2500 amateur and community theatre groups and
3000 individuals. Members have access to a wide range of benefits,
including publications, legal and practical advice, conferences,
workshops, seminars and specialist insurance.
NODA is divided into eleven national Regions, each headed by a Region Councillor, who sits on the ruling body of the Association, supported by a network of Regional Representatives and other volunteers.
